On July 14, 2016, PR Newswire featured the following story
under the “News”:
The advocacy group Fairness USA has debuted a 60-second ad on its website (via an embedded YouTube video) that portrays some of the challenges transgender people face in accessing public restrooms, highlighting the lack of state/federal non-discrimination protections. The ad will be shown on Fox News on the final day of the Republican National Convention, during presumptive nominee Donald Trump’s acceptance speech. (The GOP is now expected to vote on a controversial and divisive series of platform proposals around LGBTQ+ issues, following demands from moderate delegates for more inclusive language that have, to date, been rejected.)
The ad will also air on MSNBC one week later, during the Democratic Party convention.
